Checklist

This checklist provides guidelines for installing and setting up a sensor.

Pre-condition

A good and stable WiFi connection and an internet connection are required for the reliable operation of the sensor. Check if the WiFi requirements are met in the installation location.

The sensor must be powered. Make sure there is a power source near the sensor and that the power supply is sufficient. Please refer to the sensor's specifications.

Mounting location

Check the possible mounting locations for the sensor to select the ideal location.

To ensure that the sensor is less affected by interference, the following should be taken into account when choosing the mounting location.

  • Maintain a minimum distance from objects (e.g. lamps, plants and doors).
  • Maintain a distance of twice the height of the object.
  • Do not install behind objects (e.g. pictures, electronic devices or doors).
  • Do not install opposite mirrors.
  • Take the minimum and maximum room height into account when installing on the ceiling.

Installation

When installing and attaching the sensor to the wall or ceiling, please note the following.

  • Consider the sensor orientation.
  • For ceiling installation: orientation and inclination of the sensor.
  • When installing multiple sensors in the same room, consider the maximum detection range.
  • When selecting the power supply, consider the power consumption and the options for extending the power supply.

room dimensions

To ensure that presence, fall and vital data detection function reliably, the following points must be taken into account when configuring the room dimensions.

  • The measured dimensions from the sensor to the wall should be entered reduced by 15 cm.
  • The dimensions should be reduced to keep the distance from the sensor to objects (e.g. radiators, curtains and cupboards).
  • When installing several sensors in the same room, the detection area should not be recorded twice.
  • We recommend configuring and entering the data using a computer/laptop.

Regions

If it is necessary to define regions for the exception of presence and/or fall detection, there are a few things to consider.

  • The dimensions must be from the center of the sensor to the point of reference of the regions.
  • Regions are only to be created if a detection exception has to be defined.
    • Examples: “Bed” region to turn off fall detection or “Plant” region to turn off presence detection.
  • We recommend configuring and entering the data using a computer/laptop.
