Checklist

This checklist provides guidelines for installing and setting up a sensor.

Pre-condition

A good and stable WiFi connection and an internet connection are required for the reliable operation of the sensor. Check if the WiFi requirements are met in the installation location.

The sensor must be powered. Make sure there is a power source near the sensor.

  • sensor type A: 230V power connection
  • sensor type C: power connection 12V or 24V

Installation location

To ensure that the sensor is less affected by interference, the following must be taken into account when choosing the installation location.

  • Keep minimum distance to objects (e.g. lamps, plants and doors).
  • Maintain twice the height of the object as distance to this.
  • do not install behind objects (e.g. pictures, electronic devices or doors).
  • do not install opposite mirrors.
  • Consider the minimum and maximum room height when installing at ceiling.

Installation

When performing the installation and fixing the sensor to the wall or ceiling, pay attention to the following.

room dimensions

In order for the presence and fall detection to function reliably, the following points must be observed when configuring the room dimensions.

  • The measured dimensions from the sensor to the wall should be entered reduced by 15 cm.
  • The dimensions should be reduced to keep the distance from the sensor to objects (e.g. radiators, curtains and cupboards).
  • When installing several sensors in the same room, the detection area should not be recorded twice.
  • We recommend configuring and entering the data using a computer/laptop.

Regions

If it is necessary to define regions for the exception of presence and/or fall detection, there are a few things to consider.

  • The dimensions must be from the center of the sensor to the point of reference of the regions.
  • Regions are only to be created if a detection exception has to be defined.
    • Examples: “Bed” region to turn off fall detection or “Plant” region to turn off presence detection.
  • We recommend configuring and entering the data using a computer/laptop.
