ESPA 4.4.4 for connection to systems such as nurse call systems and alarm servers.

The PureLife Cloud supports the connection of external systems by ESPA. This section covers the technical details for connecting a system. For the configuration see the Publisher documentation.

ESPA/IP#

The cloud can be connected to a remote station via ESPA/IP. The protocol used here is TCP/IP, where the cloud can act both as a TCP server and as a client. A resolution of domain names via DNS is also possible possible. At the ESPA level, both the role of a control station and the role of a device can be assumed.

The character encoding used for message transmission can be stored in the configuration. Should one Messages that overwrite a maximum length of 128 characters for ESPA will be shortened accordingly.

Security#

Since the ESPA protocol does not provide mechanisms for authentication or authorization, it is advised to use a use point-to-point connection.
